Warner buys famed developer Rocksteady

Today Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group announced that it had purchased the majority stock in the up and coming Rocksteady, a studio best known for summer blockbuster Batman: Arkham Asylum.

The acquiring was good thinking on Warner’s part, further cementing their move into the video game developing scene. Their other studios, Snowblind Studios and TT Games, have developed the Lego games such as Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman.

Batman might not be the only DC character Rocksteady makes games for. The British developer does have a sequel planned for Arkham Asylum, but after that, who knows? Seeing as how Warner not only owns the Batman Brand, but a plethora of other characters from the DC comic book universe that could potentially receive the triple A treatment from Rocksteady.

Superman anyone?
